As many of you are aware, CES was a huge event for us – we met again with all the players (established and upcoming) in the VR community and cemented our position as a leader with our compression solution for Wireless and Cloud VR. I’m aware that many of you are eager for our wireless product to hit the market, so I wanted to provide an overview of our company strategy for 2017 relating to the wireless accessory product for the HTC Vive and now supporting the Oculus Rift that we were promoting at CES.
We recently visited GDC in San Francisco, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and SVVR in San Jose. These events, and the subsequent commercial meetings, have helped clarify our vision and increased our desire to be the company that provides the best technology for wireless VR for both current and future HMDs, and that is an integral partner in providing Cloud VR solutions to the telecommunications industry.
We will be showcasing our reference design and demonstrating our whole wireless solution on May 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th at the W hotel, San Francisco for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift – it makes current generation headsets completely wireless! The new design is fully head-mounted with an integrated battery that offsets the weight of the Vive and Rift on the user’s head, providing an unrivaled experience – it is the most immersive experience that I’ve trialed to date.
We are taking expressions of interest for orders now leading into and at this event, and we are most interested in seeking licensing partners who wish to use our reference design for any of the following:
i.integrate into their technology
ii.manufacture this accessory for the mass market
iii.use the reference design for their own internal applications
We are incredibly passionate about releasing wireless VR to the masses and are now at the stage where we are seeking a suitable partner to make this happen via licensing deals in the coming 1-2 months. From here, we hope the partner(s) can begin to take orders quickly and ship the product in Q3. Note: Interested businesses can also talk to us about partnering to use the reference design internally and getting up and running wirelessly before this.
Our built-in IMR compression technology provides the highest video quality and the lowest latency available in the wireless VR market today. We support the full 2K resolution at 90 frames per second for the leading HMDs, making them completely wireless. We do not sub sample pixels, there is no motion blur and no degradation to the user’s experience.
